How To Support Us

How do I get started?

Plate Forward is a self-driven project that any individual or group can undertake.

The idea is to fill the community plate distributed at the launch with a nutritious meal and pass it on to the person in need.

The recipient of such a gift will either return the plate or, if they are able, fill it and pass it on to someone they know will appreciate and benefit from the gesture.

March 2007 will see 150 plates released into the community. To obtain your community plate please contact Parents Place. Alternatively you can use your own plate or there are a variety of tinfoil options available for you from your local supermarket.

This process only requires motivation and one person to identify a need for the idea to be implemented and be a success.

As well the service is not restricted to supplying meals as it may be that a person in need requires housework or gardening done for a short period of time during an illness or an accident.

Your imagination is the only limit.

Step 1 Identify someone in need of some TLC.
Step 2 Organise a group of people to give that TLC. An enrolment list is provided here that may help you with that organisation.
Step 3 Do your bit to help out and leave a gift tag (named or anonymous) with the person.

Don’t drop the plate! Keep the goodwill going!
